Neil Peart and Ginger Baker have made it to the second round of our March Drum Madness bracket. We'll see now if the struggle to get there for Rush's longtime drummer took too much out of him.

After all, Peart emerged victorious over Tico Torres only after a difficult balloting process, while Cream's former standout drummer simply breezed in after handing a round one walloping to Phil Rudd of AC/DC.

We placed 32 of the most famous drummers in classic rock history into our March Drum Madness bracket. We're down to the "Sweet 16" already, and that number will be cut in half four more times until we arrive at your choice for the greatest rock drummer of all time.

Peart, an ace at Rush's tricky time signatures when he's not composing their way-cool lyrics, squeezed by Bon Jovi's long-time drummer by a margin of just 52.17 to 47.83. Baker -- who, after Cream, collaborated with a pair of all-star bands in Blind Faith and Ginger Baker's Air Force -- emerged with 66 percent of the vote to claim victory.

Who wins now as these two rock titans square off? You decide. Vote once per hour in each of our March Drum Madness battles until the second round closes on March 26 at 11:59PM ET. The ultimate winner will be revealed on April 7.
