Mick Fleetwood Separates from Wife
The last 35 years of Fleetwood Mac has often been told through the various relationships within the band. But just as it seemed that it was all in the past comes the news that Mick Fleetwood's marriage is breaking up.
TMZ is reporting that the drummer has filed for legal separation from his wife, Lynn Susan Frankel Fleetwood, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple married in 1995 and have twin 11-year old daughters. Fleetwood is seeking joint custody of the girls, with his wife having primary physical custody.
Before meeting his current wife, Fleetwood had been married three times before. In 1970, he married Jenny Boyd, who was the inspiration for Donovan's 'Jennifer Juniper' and the sister of Pattie Boyd (the ex-wife of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton). The couple divorced after a few years, but tried again in 1976. The split up for good in 1978, which was followed by Fleetwood's much-publicized affair with Stevie Nicks. In 1988, Fleetwood married Sara Recor, the inspiration for the hit 'Sara.' They divorced in 1995.
Fleetwood's separation comes just as Fleetwood Mac began their first tour since 2009. They are expected to soon release an EP -- reportedly of three songs, two of which are newly written, with the third being a newly recorded version of a song from the 1973 'Buckingham-Nicks' album.
