Fleetwood Mac Wins Two Ultimate Classic Rock Awards
Fleetwood Mac have been chosen for two Ultimate Classic Rock Awards by our readers, earning both the Best Reissue or Archival Release and Best Rock Music Commercial honors.
They won the reissue award for last year's deluxe edition reissue of their 1977 blockbuster 'Rumours.' This four CD collection featured a wealth of live and demo cuts, a vinyl version of the album and a DVD featuring the long out-of-print 'Rosebud Film' documentary on the record's creation.
The Mac took 30% of the vote, handily beating out the Who's 'Tommy: Super Deluxe Box Set' and Nirvana's 'In Utero: 20th Anniversary Edition,' who earned 20 and 10 percent of the vote respectively.
Fleetwood Mac won the Best Commercial competition with a little help from Budweiser and a whole lot of help from one of the company's famous Clydesdale horses. This 2013 Super Bowl commercial found their 1975 classic 'Landslide' accompanying the touching reunion between a young horse and his trainer. This race was a bit closer, with the group edging out the Led Zeppelin powered 'American Hustle' trailer by just three percentage points.
