In our new round of the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame, two of the '70s' most popular rock bands square off for the chance to become the 11th artist to win the 100 percent fan-voted battle.

Every month, readers will decide which of eight legendary artists or bands will be honored for their contributions to the genre. Most recently, Styx edged out a victory over Scorpions.

And now Aerosmith are looking to repeat this sort of triumph over Bachman-Turner Overdrive. The Boston band soared onto radio playlists in the early part of the decade with the monster power ballad 'Dream On.' But it was classic albums like 'Toys in the Attic' and 'Rocks' that made them of the decade's biggest bands. After a period of transition, they staged one of rock's biggest comebacks at the end of the '80s, scoring No. 1 albums and their first No. 1 single.

While the Canadian combo Bachman-Turner Overdrive haven't sustained the same chart success (their last Top 100 single was in 1979), they became one of the era's most popular groups based on instantly catchy guitar riffs and a knack for hooky melodies -- something Randy Bachman undoubtedly picked up during his time in the Guess Who. BTO classics like 'Takin' Care of Business' and 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' are still radio favorites after 40 years.

So which powerhouse '70s band moves on to the next round? You can vote once a day between now and Feb. 16, 2014, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be announced on March 3. Be sure to read our official rules. And get voting!
