This month, the Beatles get a second chance to be enshrined in the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame -- but first they have to get by Buffalo Springfield. Each month, our readers will determine which of eight legendary artists or bands is immortalized forever for their contributions to classic rock history.

Last month, in the first-ever UCR Hall of Fame election, the Beatles defeated the Beach Boys and Bob Dylan to reach the finals, but then fell to the Kinks by the slimmest of margins. If you'll read our official rules, you'll see that each month the runner-up gets another shot the following month, and so the Fab Four ride again. Please don't think we're insulting your musical intelligence by providing this Top 10 Beatles Songs list as another reminder of why they might deserve your vote.

Their opponents this time out are Buffalo Springfield, who in their brief time together revolutionized the way folk, country and rock could be blended together before giving way to the solo careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills and Richie Furay. This list of the Top 10 Buffalo Springfield Songs gives you a good idea of the impact this group had on the world.

"Why Isn't My Favorite Artist Nominated for the UCR Hall of Fame?"

Will the Beatles start their climb back up the mountain, or will Buffalo Springfield begin their own ascent? It's up to you! You can vote once a day in each of our four opening round matchups from now until 11:59PM ET on Sunday, April 14. You can read the Hall of Fame's official rules right here. Mark your calendars for May 1, when the second entrant into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame is revealed.
