As Robert Plant gears up for the release of his new album, Carry Fire, next month, he's simultaneously released another song from it and announced the first round of tour dates in support of the record.

You can listen above to "Bluebirds Over the Mountain," the third song unveiled from the album, following "The May Queen" and "Bones of Saints." Like those songs, the new one blends Plant's more recent dives into world music with a bit of the old-school rock influences that fueled his work with Led Zeppelin.

The initial round of tour dates, all of which are in North America, start on Feb. 9 in Raleigh, N.C., and wrap up about three weeks later on March 2 in Los Angeles. More dates are promised later. You can see the current list of shows below.

Carry Fire, which comes out on Oct. 13, is Plant's 11th album as a solo artist. It follows 2014's Lullaby ... and the Ceaseless Roar in style and tone, and once again features contributions by Plant's backup band the Sensational Space Shifters, who spent almost two years on the road with him last time and will join him on the new tour. In addition to some classical and world music guests, Carry Fire also includes an appearance by Chrissie Hynde, who sings on the new "Bluebirds Over the Mountain."

"It's about intention," Plant says of the new album in a press release. "I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the trawl and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation."

Fan pre-sale tickets are now available at Ticketmaster Verified Fan; general tickets go on sale Sept. 29. All online ticket buyers will receive a CD or digital copy of the new album.
