Lars Ulrich will appear in 'Radio Dreams,' a new movie set at a station where Afghanistan's first rock band meets Metallica. The role follows Ulrich cameos in 'Get Him to the Greek' and 'Hemingway and Gellhorn,' as well as starring with the group in 'Through the Never' and 'Some Kind of Monster.'

'Radio Dreams,' which is based on a screenplay by Iranian director Babk Jalali, began production last month in San Francisco. Ulrich completed his scenes earlier this month. Check out photos from the set below.

'Radio Dreams' is scheduled for release sometime in 2015. Real-life rockers Kabul Dreams, along with Iranian musician Mohsen Namjoo, also star in the film.

“The movie is set in a radio station where Mohsen Namjoo is a radio writer who is planning to bring Metallica and Kabul Dreams, the first Afghan rock band, face to face,” the movie's producer, Marjan Moghimi, told Metallica’s Persian Magnetic fan club.
