They made it through the first round, and now Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead face off in the semifinals of the 100 percent fan-voted Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame.

The Dead made quick work of David Bowie in the opening round, taking nearly 70 percent of the vote and decisively earning their spot in the semifinals. Hendrix, meanwhile, pulled off an equally impressive victory in his battle against Janis Joplin, clearing just over 80 percent of the ballots.

Now that these two juggernauts have to go head-to-head, who will emerge victorious? We actually got to find out in 2013, when Hendrix and the Dead went up against each other in the opening round of a different UCR Hall of Fame induction battle -- and it wasn't even close, with Hendrix racking up more than 83 percent of the vote.

Will history repeat itself? That's all up to you, and you can vote once an hour between now and Jan. 19 at 11:59PM ET. This month’s inductee will be announced on Jan. 27. Be sure to read our official rules.
