Duff McKagan's new book and EP, both titled How to Be a Man, will be released next week. Just as excerpts from the book are beginning to circulate, parts of the new record are also starting to make the rounds today.

The three-song EP's title track -- which features collaborations with McKagan's former Guns N' Roses bandmate Izzy StradlinAlice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell and Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga -- recently premiered at Rolling Stone.

You can listen to the song below.

"How to Be a Man," the song, pretty much follows the course of McKagan's upcoming book. How to Be a Man (And Other Illusions) -- which follows his first memoir, It's So Easy (And Other Lies), a bestseller from 2012 -- was inspired in part by the bassist's column for Seattle Weekly.

“It’s a how-to guide of things I’ve learned about life," he said earlier this year, but clarified to Rolling Stone that "it's certainly not an instructional, how-to book. It's an observational study."

The EP, which comes out on May 12, is McKagan's first record since 2013's Walking Papers project, which he formed with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. He also released albums with his band Loaded and Velvet Revolver over the past 10 years. His last solo album, Beautiful Disease, was released in 1999.

McKagan will also hit the road next week for a brief book tour. Here are the dates currently on his itinerary:

May 11 - Ridgewood, NJ - Bookends
May 12 - New York City - The Strand Bookstore
May 13 - Long Island - Book Revue
May 15 - Hollywood, FL - Hard Rock Casino
May 16 - Ledyard, CT - Foxwoods
May 17 - Seattle - Neptune
May 22 - Los Angeles - Book Soup
