Mick Jagger has been the singer for the Rolling Stones since 1962. For more than 50 years, the band has remained one of rock's most popular. Their run of bestselling records in the late '60s and early '70s pretty much defined superstar rock during the era. Jagger, along with guitarist Keith Richards, has been the main songwriting team behind the group, penning some of music's greatest tunes. Jagger has branched into acting occasionally (with roles in movies like 'Ned Kelly' and 'Freejack'), as well as a solo career that's yielded less-successful LPs than the ones he makes with his band. Jagger's private life often gets as much press as his professional one, with a line of ex-wives and famous girlfriends dotting his resume. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2002.
