Ozzfest Meets Knotfest Returns With Ozzy Osbourne, Stone Sour and Others
Ozzy Osbourne will bring his rebooted solo band along when Ozzfest Meets Knotfest returns with another slate of heavy-duty metal bands later this year. Osbourne had previously hinted at this announcement.
"Last year's show with Black Sabbath was just incredible," Osbourne says in a press release announcing the shows. "I'm thrilled to be coming back this year with Zakk [Wylde], Tommy [Clufetos], [Ron] "Blasko" [Nicholson] and Adam [Wakeman] to headline the 21st anniversary of Ozzfest."
Osbourne, Prophets of Rage and the Deftones are featured on the Nov. 4 Ozzfest slate, while Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Stone Sour headline the Knotfest end of things on Nov. 5. Both will be held at the Glen Helen Amphitheater and Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, Calif. This will be Osbourne's first Los Angeles-area solo appearance in six years.
Tickets go on sale July 14; prices range from $29 for single-day general-admission lawn tickets to $239 for a two-day general-admission pit passes. A variety of VIP packages are also available for both days. There will be a special pre-fest kickoff on Nov. 3 for all ticketed campers.
"Teaming up again with Ozzfest means another weekend of the biggest, baddest, loudest and best," said Slipknot's Corey Taylor, who also leads Stone Sour. Sharon Osbourne added that "last year we had over 75,000 people attend. ... And this year's event means the world to me as we'll be among friends. It's going to be another amazing weekend."
Guitarist Wylde originally joined Osbourne's solo band in the late '80s; his most recent stint with the singer was eight years ago. Clufetos sat in with Black Sabbath for their 2012 reunion until their final concert earlier this year.
