Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx spent a year tirelessly logging the highs and lows of life as a drug-addled rockstar in his 2007 biography 'The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star.' Now the bassist says that year will be recreated on Broadway.

Without providing much detail, Sixx said the book is being reinvented for theater:

On Facebook Sixx adds, "More news to follow in the next few months....Were getting pretty far down the road...We hope for a late 2013 or early 2014 for it to open…"

'The Heroin Diaries' was written in 1987, a time when Sixx's addictions were at their worst. Heroin and cocaine were two of his many vices, and he spent time writing in a diary during moments of confusion, paranoia, sadness and eventually sobriety. The book is described as difficult to read due to the honesty, but absolutely compelling.
