After countless rumors and seemingly endless speculation, a Feb. 7 release date for a new Van Halen album has officially been announced. The disc -- the first with singer David Lee Roth in nearly 30 years -- is obviously highly anticipated, but not without its share of controversy.

How will DLR sound fronting Van Halen after all these years? Would VH be better off with Sammy Hagar? Will fans miss longtime bassist Michael Anthony? And can new-ish bassist -- Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang -- hold his own?
