The typeface for Led Zeppelin's famous logo was designed by Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis fame in 1973.

It was created to be used as part of the cover art for the album ‘Houses of the Holy.’ Another famous piece of Zeppelin imagery -- the Swan Song logo -- was inspired by a nineteenth century painting called ‘Evening (Fall of Day)’ by American artist William Rimmer. Many sources say the logo represents Apollo, the Greek God of light, music, and healing.
