John Fogerty Announces World Tour Celebrating His Busiest Year
John Fogerty continues a retrospective tour focusing on Creedence Clearwater Revival's most celebrated year with dates in Canada throughout November. The tour has already hit nearly 20 U.S. cities between June and August, but now plans call for a full 1969 World Tour that will hit other countries in 2015, starting with the Canadian dates in November.
CCR released three classic albums in 1969: ‘Bayou Country,’ ‘Green River’ and ‘Willy and the Poor Boys.’ All became multi-platinum hits, led by ‘Green River’ -- which sold more than three million copies. The 1969 song cycle included career-making tracks like ‘Proud Mary,’ ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ ‘Lodi,’ ‘Down on the Corner’ and ‘Fortunate Son,’ among others.
“I just took it all in," Fogerty has said of the period, in which Creedence Clearwater Revival also appeared at Woodstock. "Everyone knew we were at a pivotal moment. I took it all in and turned it into songs."
Forgety's Canadian dates begin on Nov. 7 at St. John's, Newfoundland, and continue through Nov. 29 at Victoria, BC. A complete schedule is below. More dates and countries are promised soon.
