More Details About Deep Purple’s ‘InFinite’ Album Emerge, Lyric Video for ‘Time for Bedlam’ Released
Deep Purple’s 20th studio album, InFinite, will be released on April 7. Today (Jan. 3), we learned a little bit more about the formats they have planned for the record, and got to see the cover artwork.
Fan site Darker Than Blue has been doing some digging and discovered that InFinite will be sold as a CD, CD/DVD and a two-LP/DVD, as well as a “small fan box” and a “large fan box.” It is believed that the large fan box will contain the CD, DVD and vinyl, along with three 10” singles and a t-shirt.
Brave Words says that they’re also going to put out an EP on Feb. 3 for the first single “Time for Bedlam,” whose lyric video is embedded below. Three other non-album tracks will be included, “Paradise Bar,” “Uncommon Man” (instrumental) and “Hip Boots” (Ian Paice rehearsal version).
The album’s title, as well as the name of the upcoming Long Goodbye Tour, is part of speculation that Deep Purple are preparing to call it quits as they approach their 50th anniversary in 2018. Over the summer, drummer Ian Paice, the lone constant member of the group, suffered what was diagnosed as a “mini-stroke,” causing the band to cancel several concerts, the first he has ever missed in his career. As of now, they have dates booked from mid-May through July 4 across Europe, with a week’s worth of shows in the United Kingdom slated for mid-November. See their website for full details.
