Rock and Roll hall of famer Bonnie Raitt is getting set to launch a major US tour. The 70 date trek will follow the release of her first new studio album in over seven years, 'Slipstream,' which will be issued on April 10.

The album's first single is a cover of the old Gerry Rafferty hit 'Right Down The Line.' The first leg of the tour will kick off on May 1 in Oklahoma and will wrap up in Hyannis, Mass. on June 24. More dates are expected to follow.

Raitt's longtime touring band -- (James "Hutch" Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums), George Marinelli (guitar) and Mike Finnigan (keyboards) -- will be along for the ride. Side note on drummer Fataar, not only was he a member of the Beach Boys in the early 70's, but he was also one of The Rutles where he played the role of  Stig O' Hara, the "George Harrison" of the group.

Of her band, Raitt said, "They're all incredibly talented and we fit like a glove. We've got a great thing going and can't wait to get back out on the road." Raitt will take along Marc Cohn as opener for the first half and the legendary Mavis Staples for the second part.
