On July 29, the Allman Brothers Band will release a six-CD box set of their legendary 1971 dates from New York's Fillmore East. To celebrate, we've teamed up with Universal Music Group to give one lucky winner a copy of the set!

With 37 tracks, 'The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings' contains the band's March 12-13 concerts, as well as their June 27 show, which was the last night before the famous venue closed for good. The box features 15 performances that have never been issued on any previous release of the Allmans' Fillmore concerts. The original 1971 album, 'At Fillmore East,' which contained highlights of the March dates, was the band's commercial breakthrough.

“That weekend in March of ‘71 when we recorded ‘At Fillmore East,’ most of the time it clicked,” drummer Butch Trucks said. “We were finally starting to catch up with what we were listening to. We had lived together...We got in trouble together; we all just moved as a unit. And then, when we got onstage to play, that’s what it was all about — and it just happened to all come together that weekend.”
