Tool have announced a two-week stretch of dates for May that will be bookended by a pair of festivals.

Shows begin at Welcome to Rockville on May 5 in Jacksonville, Fla., and wind up at the Chicago Open Air Festival on May 19 in Bridgeview, Ill. In between, Tool will play arenas across the Southeast and Midwest, with a stop at the inaugural Epicenter Festival on May 11 in Rockingham, N.C.. You can see the dates below and get full ticketing information at their website.

What's still unknown is whether these shows will be in support of new music. Tool hasn't released an album since 2006's 10,000 Days, but they've been hinting that a follow up could arrive soon. Earlier this year, drummer Danny Carey said Tool were planning to put something out in April and frontman Maynard James Keenan said the band had finished tracking and started mixing, but there has been no word since then.

Expectations have skyrocketed since 2017, when Carey said new work was due this year. That seemed to be a realistic target date after Tool confirmed they had begun recording last spring. An instrumental version of "Descending," a song they've often performed live, then surfaced in April. But by summer, Keenan was saying a new album wouldn't arrive until 2019.
