Robert Plant Teams Up With ‘Les Miserables’ Star Alfie Boe for New Song, Possible Tour
The ever-restless Robert Plant has recorded a duet of Tim Buckley's 'Song to the Siren' with English opera and musical star Alfie Boe, and the pair just might hit the road together as well.
Boe, considered the "bad boy" of opera, and Plant apparently (and logically) met at a bar, and soon revealed a mutual love for each others' work. From there, it wasn't long before the duo were in a recording studio recording 'Siren' -- which, if you read our list of the 10 Best Robert Plant Songs, you know the former Led Zeppelin singer already sang alone on his 2002 album 'Dreamland.'
The song will appear on Boe's forthcoming album 'Alfie' on Oct. 31, and according to the Sunday Mercury, a label representative said the recording sessions were so spellbinding the pair are considering further collaborations, including a possible tour.
This news comes on the heels of reports that Plant is in the process of putting together yet another new band, named Crown Vic, down in Texas with the help of singer/guitarist Patty Griffin, who also appeared in Plant's last collective, Band of Joy.
