‘Limelight’ vs. ‘You Really Got Me’ – March Riff Madness
It's the quarterfinals of March Riff Madness, and Rush's 'Limelight' battles the Kinks' 'You Really Got Me' for the right to win the Global Rock region and move on to the Final Four.
At the beginning of March, we started with 32 of rock's most iconic riffs. After two weeks, that field has twice been cut in half down to eight. We'll keep going until we theoretically arrive at the most awesome riff in all of rock history.
After beating the Guess Who's 'American Woman' in the first round, 'Limelight' took care of Thin Lizzy's 'Jailbreak' with 53 percent of the vote. Meanwhile, 'You Really Got Me' arrived at the quarterfinals by first beating AC/DC's 'Back in Black,' then Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' a week later.
So which is Global Rock's best riff? You can vote once per hour until the quarterfinals of March Riff Madness closes on Sunday, March 23 at 11:59PM ET. The ultimate March Riff Madness winner will be revealed on Tuesday, April 7.
