Which version of 'You Really Got Me' gets you going the most -- The Kinks' 1964 original or Van Halen's 1978 cover? That's the choice facing voters in this week's Clash of the Titans.

The question was raised last month during our March Riff Madness Readers Poll, during which we were surprised to find that a few people thought the Kinks version was a cover of a Van Halen song. That revelation made us realize just how strong of an impact Eddie Van Halen's supercharged take on Dave Davies' iconic riff has had on music history.

So is this an 'All Along the Watchtower' situation, where Jimi Hendrix's version is now accepted as the definitive take of Bob Dylan's song? Or is the original still the gold standard? That's up to you to decide!

If you need to do some research before you cast your vote at the bottom, listen to both versions of 'You Really Got Me' below. This Clash of the Titans will stay open until April 20, 2014 at 11:59PM ET. You can vote once an hour for your favorite.
