Heart, America to Receive Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Heart's sister duo of Ann and Nancy Wilson, along with the band America, are among the 2012 honorees that will receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it has just been announced.

The Wilson sisters and America join a bevy of musicians and celebrities who were chosen by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at a meeting held on June 17.

“We are truly humbled and honored to be chosen to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the year 2012,” say America bandmates Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley in a statement. “Thank you to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for this wonderful gesture. We are truly thrilled that America has been chosen to be represented with this prestigious honor.”

Other 2012 honorees include Eddie Van Halen's ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli, 'Simpsons' creator Matt Groening and actress Jennifer Aniston. The celebrities have to schedule the ceremonies sometime in the next five years or else the honor expires.
