Let the arguing begin. The list of 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced and once again Rush and Kiss aren't included. Loyal fans of the two legendary bands will no doubt wonder how acts like The Spinners and Eric B. & Rakim can be considered before the Canadian and New York rockers. This year's class is full of first-time nominees and female artists.

Guns N' Roses nabbed their first nomination. Typically an induction ceremony includes an onstage performance from the group, meaning Axl Rose and Slash could finally set aside their differences and -- let's not jinx it.

The Small Faces/The Faces, Heart, and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts are other first-time nominees. War and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are once again up for induction. To qualify a band must have released a single or album 25 years prior to the year of nomination, in this case 1986.

The 2012 induction ceremony will take place on April 14 in Cleveland. Leading up to the ceremony, the museum will host 10 days of special events, including tours of the newly redesigned museum. The actual ceremony will be open to the public, with individual tickets going on sale in December.
