After suffering a health scare that resulted in him being helped off the stage during a recent New Zealand show, Glenn Hughes has posted a video trying to soothe fans' concerns by chalking the whole thing up to a failure to properly hydrate himself before the concert.

"I want to thank all of you for your loving messages," says Hughes in the video, which you can watch above. "Last night was a bit of a hiccup. I hadn't been drinking enough water. Note to self: Mr. Hughes, drink water. So, again, thank you so much for your loving messages, and on we go. Peace and love! See you soon."

As previously reported, Hughes — who's most recent solo set was 2016's Resonate but is exclusively performing Deep Purple material on this trek— made it more than 90 minutes into his set at Christchurch's Horncastle Arena before falling ill. A fan reported that he "complained about having a cold throughout the concert," and by the time he realized he couldn't finish, Hughes had to be helped off the stage by one of his techs. All of which is to say it probably looked pretty scary at the time, but based on the video, Hughes appears to be in good spirits and feeling fine.

Hughes posted his video from sound check in Wellington, where he's scheduled to perform tonight before moving on to Victoria, Queensland, and South Brisbane. After a few weeks off, he's then booked for a handful of dates in Ukraine in late October, and scheduled to play several dates with Black Country Communion early next year.
