Gene Simmons of Kiss earned record ratings with the final season six episode of his popular 'Family Jewels' reality show, which centered on his proposal to longtime girlfriend Shannon Tweed.

According to Deadline.com, the dramatic episode, which Simmons denies was staged in any way, drew over 3 million viewers, the most ever for the long-running show. They also state that 1.7 million of those viewers were between the ages of 18 and 49, and 1.9 million were between 25 and 54. We think that means the show demonstrated a wide range of demographic appeal, but what are we, an ad agency?

We'll all have to wait with baited breath to see if Tweed says yes, as the always marketing-minded Simmons left us with a cliffhanger ending. The show returns with her answer on Sept. 6, so mark your calendars if you want, but we already know the answer.  Here's the thing: If a fire-breathing, blood-spitting demon capable of flight and possessing a tongue longer than a baby's arm asks you to marry him, you do it.

In the meantime, Kiss is finishing up their brief summer tour -- check out our review of their recent New Hampshire concert -- and presumably returning to work on the follow-up to 2009's 'Sonic Boom' album. Which, if we get a vote, is how we'd have the "God of Thunder" spend all his time.
