Bill Ward’s New Band Day of Errors to Tour West Coast

Former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward’s new band, Day of Errors, have confirmed a seven-date West Coast tour that’s set to take place in December. The shows will take place 10 months after Sabbath played their final show, without Ward’s involvement.

Ward was originally lined up to take part Sabbath's reunion, which was announced in 2011, but quit soon afterward, saying he hadn’t been offered a contract he considered “signable.” Even though Ward attended an awards ceremony last year with ex-bandmates Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, his relationship with his ex-colleagues remained strained, and he wasn’t invited to return for the final concert.

“Tony Iommi’s comments, and some of Ozzy’s, remain in a place of disparaging remarks, which bring fault to my character as a person and a musician," he said in August. “I regret the loss of Ozzy’s friendship. I regret the loss of Tony’s friendship. ... I’m honored to have been a part of Black Sabbath, and to have played with Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, and Geezer Butler."

Ward revealed Day of Errors in 2016. The band included guitarist Joe Amodea and bassist Nick Diltz, who was recently replaced by Dewey Bragg. Describing the three-piece as the result of a "desire to have my drumming spirit continue to live,” Ward noted, “We play loud, hard, with overtures of gut-kicking heavy, heavy parts.” The band said in a statement that it's "currently writing and recording a few new tracks that they hope to share live for the first time on the tour.”
