Southern rock greats 38 Special have just released a live rendition of their 1981 hit song, 'Hold on Loosely' to radio. The track was originally recorded for their fourth studio album, 'Wild-Eyed Southern Boys.'

That year, the song stormed its way up the singles chart, landing at No. 3 for the band.

Nowadays, as they quickly approach 40 years of making memorable music, 38 Special has released their latest album, 'Live From Texas,' back in August, in which the new radio single can be found.

The live take of 'Hold on Loosely' prove that the members of 38 Special -- Donnie Van Zant (vocals and guitars), Don Barnes (vocals, guitars, mandolin, keyboards and harmonica), Larry Junstrom (bass and guitar), Danny Chauncey (guitars and backing vocals), Bobby Capps (vocals and keyboards) and Gary Moffatt (drums and percussion) -- still have what put them on top all those years ago.

Their tight musician ship and solid vocals on the tune will give fans an emotional rush, leaving them feeling like they have been front and center at the band's actual performance in the duration of the song.

Fans can log onto the band's website for more information on forthcoming tour dates, new music in the works and much more.
