Highly regarded session guitarist Hugh McCracken passed away on March 28 following a battle with leukemia. He was 71 years old.

His playing put him in high demand over the last 45-plus years, lending his talents to recordings by the likes of Paul Simon, John LennonBilly Joel, Kenny Loggins, and Steely Dan. His work with Paul McCartney on the 1971 'Ram' album, led McCartney to offer him a spot in his new band Wings, but his highly in demand studio status prevented him from taking the gig.
