Marvin Lee Aday graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas in 1965. After a spell in college, he headed to L.A. to begin his music career and found success fairly quickly, although his signature album 'Bat Out of Hell' wouldn't be released until 1977. It featured hits like 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' and 'Two Out of Three Ain't Bad.'

Meat Loaf had a key role in the 1975 cult classic 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show,' and when his music career cooled off in the '80s, he kept busy on the big screen and television. He enjoyed a resurgence in 1993 with 'I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That),' the biggest hit of his career. Several 'Bat Out of Hell' album sequels followed, as did tours, until 2013, when he announced that poor health was taking him off the road. In August that year, he became the first headlining act at RockTellz & CockTails in Las Vegas, where he had a six-week run.
