Watch an Exclusive Clip From ‘We Are Twisted F***ing Sister’
Ultimate Classic Rock is proud to present an exclusive clip from We Are Twisted F***ing Sister, the new documentary devoted to the band's hand-to-mouth first decade. As previously reported, the film was a lengthy labor of love for filmmaker Andrew Horn, who helped round out the budget through a successful crowdfunding campaign that was publicly endorsed by frontman Dee Snider. Last summer, the movie gained studio distribution, and is currently in the middle of a brief limited theatrical engagement.
“I realized as I was working on the film that it was really very much a story of how a band becomes a band,” said Horn in a press release. “They are truly unique in that their overnight success actually took 10 years, so you really get to experience everything Twisted Sister went through to do it. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced any group of musicians as ferocious … or as funny.”
In this exclusive clip, the band members look back on a pivotal moment early in their career when Twisted Sister opened for Motörhead — a plum gig during the summer of 1982 that Snider discussed in his autobiography, Shut Up and Give Me the Mic. (You can read an exclusive excerpt from the book).
If you're unable to catch We Are Twisted F***ing Sister during its theatrical run, don't worry — the home version, which adds two hours of bonus material and director commentary, is due out Feb. 23 and is available for pre-order now.
