Twisted Sister’s ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ Gets Mariachi Makeover
Looking to extend your Cinco de Mayo celebration a bit? On the heels of last year's successful Mariachi mash-up of Cheap Trick's classic track 'Surrender', heavy metal's Twisted Sister and their hit 'We're Not Gonna Take It' is the latest Mariachi mash-up being presented by Hornitos Premium Tequila.
The 100-second video clip starts in much the same manner that the original version of the song does, with drums and vocalist Dee Snider. It is when the remainder of the band (in this case, aided by a mariachi band) comes in that the differences stand out. Punctuated by horns and flamenco guitars, the song is given its arguably exotic twist.
Twister Sister's Dee Snider says, "We had an awesome time giving one of our biggest hits a little Mariachi flavor. The Mariachis we worked with were amazing and they thought of some really unique ways to put a new twist on 'We're Not Gonna Take It'. The song came out even better than we could have imagined."
Snider's been a busy guy the last few months, appearing on 'Celebrity Apprentice' and releasing a new book and album of Broadway covers. the latter two items hit stores tomorrow -- May 8.
