The Doors' '67 self-titled release was only the first in their string of Top 10 albums. They continued to grow in popularity with singles like 'Light My Fire' and 'L.A. Woman' and yet, they were snubbed by the Grammys throughout their career.

The passing of vocalist Jim Morrison came just six years after the band formed, earning him a not-so-coveted spot in the "27 Club," and securing the Doors' untimely and early demise.

In 2007, the band was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
