Ted Nugent Says Trump is ‘The Best President I Have Ever Seen’
Ted Nugent is once again singing the praises of Donald Trump.
In a recent interview on the Music Mania podcast, the ‘Music City Madman’ referred to Trump as “the best president I have ever seen.” Nugent went on to describe Trump as “a hell-raisin', we the people, Constitution, Bill of Rights, be the best that you can be,” type of leader.
“I think Donald Trump's doing a great job,” Nugent continued. “He represents the heart and soul of the heart and soul of this country — the heartland of this country: the farmers, the ranchers, the private property owners, the entrepreneurs, working-hard, playing-hard Americans who earn their own way, live within their means, save for a rainy day, take risks and make sacrifices to be in the asset column.”
The rocker even found a theoretical connection between the president’s influence and his own performances. Calling his band “so good it’s stupid,” Nugent admitted that “every time we jam, [I think,] 'This is gonna be the greatest tour of my life,' and it might have a lot to do with the incredible, positive spirit that this president represents, that he exudes, that he fights for, and that is the best people in America that are in the asset column." Listen to the interview in its entirety below.
Nugent has been a vocal Trump supporter throughout the president’s tenure. In 2017, the 'Music City Madman' joined fellow musician Kid Rock for a tour of the Oval Office.
Nugent has previously expressed support for deportations, and criticized athletes who kneel during the national anthem. He is also a staunch proponent of gun ownership and called the survivors of the 2018 Parkland shooting "mushy-brained" and "soulless" after they advocated for tighter gun control laws.
Nugent kicks off his The Music Made Me Do It Again! summer 2019 tour July 19 at the Rose in Pasadena, California. You can get complete date and ticket information at his official website.
