Wandering minstrel, psychedelic pioneer, whimsical folkster, all around cool guy. Call him what you want, there is no denying Donovan. Just ask him! We got the chance to do just that recently, and to celebrate his 66th birthday (May 10, 2012), here are the results of that enlightening conversation.

The 27th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony,  which was held April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio, will be making its way to the masses via HBO this Saturday, May 5 (9:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT). The special will feature highlights from the evening including inductions, speeches, performances, tributes and so on.

While John Mellencamp has arguably carved out his own place in rock n roll history, he took to the stage of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame last night to induct one of his musical heroes, Donovan. Mellencamp shared amusing anecdotes relating to how he felt he took Donovan's influence upon his music a little too liberally, while also regaling the audience of having toured with the musician for 40 show

Donovan, a recent 2012 electee to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, is "pleased as punch" and responds to the news by telling Rolling Stone "it's a singular honor." Though some fans believe that the Scottish folk icon should of been inducted far earlier, the Sunshine Superman believes the timing to be ideal...

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page thrilled a packed house at Royal Albert Hall in London last night when he joined Donovan to perform his classic "hired gun" solo from the British folk-rock legend's 1965 hit 'Sunshine Superman.'
