Sammy Hagar is adding "television host" to his résumé.

According to a blog post published yesterday on Hagar's official site, he's joining forces with AXS TV to produce a series titled Sammy Hagar's Rock 'n' Roll Road Trip. As you might expect, the show calls for Hagar to pack up for some rock-themed travels.

"The concept is that I go to people's hometown and interview them, jam with them etc., or you go with me on a rock 'n roll road trip and see my routine," he explains in the post. "I can't tell you when it's going to start being shown yet, but I will keep you up and current. So far I've interviewed Tommy Lee and jammed with him and Mikey [Anthony] at Tommy's house, walking the Sunset Strip, etc."

As Hagar mentions, there's no official start date for Road Trip, but it sounds like he's getting plenty of episodes ready to air. "I've also filmed with Mickey Hart and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead in the San Francisco area, along with Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads, a neighbor of mine in Marin," he continues. "Going out do the girls from Heart in Seattle with a couple more Seattle bands to round that one out next. And many more to come!"

In the meantime, Hagar's ever-busy touring schedule remains active: He'll be on the road throughout the summer with his current band, the Circle.
