Rush’s Neil Peart to Appear on Letterman’s ‘Drum Solo Week’
Rush stickman Neil Peart will appear Thursday, June 9, on CBS' 'Late Show With David Letterman' as part of the program's 'Drum Solo Week.'
On the show, Peart will deliver a drum solo in front of the crowd at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York. A press release for 'Letterman' calls the Rush stickman "one of the greatest drum soloists in rock music." Other drummers taking part in the weeklong celebration include Prince and Ringo Starr percussionist Sheila E. (Tuesday) and legendary jazz beat-keeper Roy Haynes (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, Rhythm Magazine has posted a video tour of the ridiculously awesome drum set that Peart is using on Rush's current Time Machine Tour. The kit is described in the video by Peart's longtime drum tech, Lorne Wheaton. Check it out for yourself in the video below.
Rush's current Time Machine Tour is scheduled through a July 2 show in Quincy, Wash. Click here for the full list of remaining dates.
