Ringo Starr to Guest Star on Cartoon Special
A former Beatle just made it OK to spend your free time watching cartoons. Then again, his band has some history with the subject.
Ringo Starr will voice a character and sing a new song in a Powerpuff Girls comeback special, which will air on Jan. 20 on Cartoon Network. The episode is titled 'Dance Pantsed,' and Starr will contribute a tune called 'I Wish I Was a Powerpuff Girl.'
Starr -- who also supplied his distinctive voice to the narrator on the kids' show 'Thomas & Friends' -- will give life to "flamboyant mathematician Fibonacci Sequins" -- a character that gets kidnapped, along with an opera singer and a badger, by evil monkey Mojo Jojo, who creates a video-game, diabolically called 'Dance Pants R-EVIL-ution,' designed to take over the world.
The hit animated show ran from 1998-2005. This reboot is big news for fans of both the Powerpuff Girls and the Beatles, even though the show's original creator isn't involved in the project and Starr gets only one song.
