Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who's the biggest July 2011 concert draw of them all? Well, it's not Paul McCartney. He's still the greatest living songwriter of the modern era, but the former Beatle lost out at the concert box office last month to new kid on the block Taylor Swift, who straddles the line between country and pop, according to a report issued by Tickets Now, a resale ticket vendor.

TicketsNow.com lists Swift's Speak Now tour as its best-selling music event last month, accounting for 6.3% of all concert tickets sold on the site. McCartney accounted for 5.7% of the site's concert ticket sales for the month, as he embarked on a stadium tour. Ah, but those are just statistics, right? We're not going to take anything away from pop music darling Swift, because she can sing, writes her own tunes and is cute as a button.

However, McCartney -- actually, that's Sir Paul McCartney, thank you very much -- played fewer shows than Swift last month, so the young starlet had a larger volume of concerts to pull from. One could argue that Sir Paul and Miss Swift are more neck and neck than these figures indicate.

Yeah, yeah, numbers don't lie. But they can also be manipulated and spun. Whatever the case, McCartney still rules in our world, as much as Swift does in hers.
