No. 44: ‘No Expectations’ – Top 100 Rolling Stones Songs

This Rolling Stones classic originally appeared as the B-side to the popular single, 'Street Fighting Man.' (Which, as you can imagine, we'll see later on in this countdown.) It was released in Dec. 1968 off of the 'Beggars Banquet' album.

The songwriting for this lonely, country-tinged ballad is credited to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and features Brian Jones on slide guitar while Richards performs acoustically. It's also notable due to the claves-kept beat of drummer Charlie Watts.
