After all, why should Kiss and Motley Crue's Vince Neil be the only rock stars to own football teams? With the NFL season kicking off this month, we’ve decided to team up with Loudwire to create teams for 16 other great bands — and let you decide which squad deserves to win the first annual Hard Rock Football League championship.

Skynyrd certainly doesn't have Nugent's reputation for mayhem -- both on the field and on the sidelines -- but they have proven to be legendarily resilient. No matter the score, no matter the time left, the Freebirds have the ability to win. Count them out at your own peril. Of course, getting through the disruptive Mad Men will be no easy task. Nugent's squad has become better known lately for its politically incorrect heckling, but that's really only a distraction as they unleash some of the most devastating hits of any team in the fledgling HRFL.

So who gets your betting money — and more importantly, your support — the Freebirds or the Madmen? The winner of the Hard Rock Football League will be announced on Sept. 30.
