A new documentary about the iconic Sunset Strip venue the Rainbow Bar and Grill features late Motorhead leader Lemmy discussing his favorite locale.

Titled The Rainbow, the film also features Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Gene Simmons and others, and explores the history of the Hollywood establishment and its sister site the Whisky a Go Go. Both were founded by Mario Maglieri – who died in 2017 – and took center stage in West Hollywood’s rock circuit.

Regulars over the years included John Lennon, Alice Cooper and the Hollywood Vampires drinking society, members of Guns N’ Roses and many others. It’s also known as the place where John Belushi ate his final meal.

“Truly a lover of music and the arts, Mario helped hundreds of artists get their start in Los Angeles,” producers said in a statement. “Hopefuls from all over the world came to the the Rainbow with the desire of being discovered. He frequently came across talented musicians who went on to become platinum sellers. Their pictures line the walls of the Rainbow.”

Following his death, a life-size statue of Lemmy was placed in the Rainbow as a tribute to one of its most regular customers. He was known to spend hours drinking Jack Daniel's and Coke while playing a video poker machine.

“I’ve seen things in this place you would not believe," he notes in the documentary. "And I’ve done a few things in it too. The history of rock ’n’ roll is in here.”

The Rainbow will be released digitally on demand on Oct. 29.
