Teen pop heartthrob Justin Bieber has seen better weeks, but the music of Janice -- make that Janis Joplin -- seems to have him on the mend.

During last night's (March 7) show at the O2, Bieber fainted while performing one of his hits. He was tended to by medical technicians, given oxygen and, against doctor's orders, finished the show. He was then taken to a local hospital for examination.

To either reassure fans that he was alright or to send the hormones of girls into overdrive worldwide -- perhaps both -- Bieber posted a shirtless (and we might point out, plucked-chicken hairless) photo of himself in his hospital room to Instagram along with the note "Gettin better listening to Janice [sic] Joplin."

Despite making rather safe pop music, the revelation that the Canadian pop star was listening to Joplin continues a somewhat puzzling tradition that has shown he has some surprising musical depth: He performed the Beatles' 'Let It Be' on X Factor this past October, has gone on record as being a Metallica fan, has jammed with Carlos Santana and has even made Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Kiedis cry with his 'Never Say Never' movie!

People can hate on Bieber all they want, but at least the kid has decent taste in music! Who knows, maybe he'll reinvent himself as a rock n roller in the years to come.
