The Faces were the ultimate good-time British rock band of the '70s. Paul McCartney made some of the best hook-stuffed music played on the radio during the era. Both need your votes to get into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame.

Both artists saw a rebirth of sorts in the '70s. The Faces, with new singer Rod Stewart, emerged from the Small Faces, one of the U.K.'s most popular bands of the '60s. McCartney, of course, rose from the ashes of the Beatles to launch a solo career that continued his hit-making power.

Every two months, the readers of Ultimate Classic Rock will decide which of eight legendary artists or bands will be remembered for their contributions to the genre.

So sit down and listen to 'Ohh La La' and 'Rock Show,' 'Stay With Me' and 'Band on the Run,' and then figure out which classic artist gets your vote.

Round one of the competition ends Sunday, Nov. 17, at 11:59 PM EST and the winner will be announced Monday, Dec. 2. Be sure to read our official rules here. Get those votes in! We’ll be revealing the rest of the November 2013 UCR Hall of Fame nominees and battle pairings in the coming days.
