Nearly a decade after exchanging vows in a civil partnership, Elton John and David Furnish are rumored to be planning a wedding.

The couple, who were one of the first to take advantage of the U.K.'s move to allow civil partnerships in 2005, are said by Ireland's Mirror tabloid to be holding a "small and intimate" wedding ceremony on Dec. 21.

It'd be the latest in a series of commitments John and Furnish have made to one another since starting their relationship more than 20 years ago -- a list that now includes a pair of young sons, both of whom will reportedly "play a special part" in the ceremony.

No sources are named, of course, but the Mirror lists Ozzy Osbourne among the rumored guests, saying it'll be a star-studded but modest event and quoting a "friend" of the couple as saying, "Elton and David have been planning this for months. Elton is flamboyant but, for once, this will be a decidedly low-key affair. Only close friends and family are invited -- it’s going to be a small, intimate do."

This would be the second marriage for John, who was briefly wed to sound engineer Renate Blauel between 1984-87. He was also engaged to Linda Hannon in 1970, a relationship whose demise was famously chronicled in John's 1975 hit 'Someone Saved My Life Tonight.'
