It was a convergence of metal stars last weekend in Brussels, Belgium, when former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan’s band Loaded shared the stage with ex-Pantera singer Phil Anselmo’s current outfit, the mighty Down, to perform the latter's modern classic ‘Bury Me In Smoke.’

In McKagan’s latest column / tour diary on SeattleWeekly.com, the bass player and singer announced he had plans to play a collection of dates with Down, his “new most-favorite band.” He went onto describe his recent gigs alongside the Misfits (“For a punk-rock dude like me, that was pretty all right”) and playing the U.K.’s Download Festival (“We played the Download Festival again, but this time we were on the mainstage instead of the second stage that is in a tent. Loaded has gone "big time"... sorta”).

McKagan also expressed excitement to have his wife join him on the next few tour dates: “My wife comes out to join me in a couple of days. I will definitely have to take a bath and clean some of my clothes... and curb my language.”

What’s next? A tour with GN’R bandmates Slash and Izzy Stradlin wouldn’t be too shabby. McKagan recently hinted such a reunion might happen, soon.

(Yes, we know that's Scott Weiland, not Phil Anselmo, in the photo above. This photo is too beautiful to crop)
