Teenage Time Killers Supergroup Reveals Full All-Star Roster
'Greatest Hits Vol. 1,' due in early 2015 from Rise Records, will feature the Corrosion of Conformity rhythm section of Reed Mullin and Mike Dean, Grohl's Nirvana and Foo Fighters bandmate Pat Smear and Slipknot's Corey Taylor, as well as Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Brian Baker (Bad Religion), Nick Oliveri (Queens of the Stone Age), Neil Fallon (Clutch), Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), Lee Ving (Fear), and others.
"We had all these other folks that want to participate," Mullin earlier told NME. "It’s a very good mixture of old hardcore punk, punk and metal stuff. … People are going to be pleasantly surprised. It’s pretty cool."
Grohl plays on 12 tracks from the album, which was mastered by Bill Stevenson of Black Flag fame. All of the instrumental parts for 'Greatest Hits Vol. 1' were recorded at Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, using the mixing board from Sound City. John "Lou" Lousteau is producing.
Earlier collaborations featuring Grohl have included the 2004 all-star heavy metal album 'Probot,' and a 2009 project with Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones as Them Crooked Vultures. Grohl had an early-2000s stint as drummer with Queen of the Stone Age, as well.
