Brian Wilson has had some tough times in life, but things couldn't be better for the Beach Boys singer, who just turned 70 earlier this week.

Wilson told Rolling Stone that he's not exactly feeling his age. "I feel great," says the vocalist. "I don't think I look or act 70. I feel more like I'm in my mid-forties."

The vocalist, who is out on tour this summer with the reunited Beach Boys, celebrated the occasion in Montreal with a cake that was made to resemble the album cover of the band's 'That's Why God Made the Radio' album. Wilson also had the crowd serenade him while his wife sent balloons that were placed around him onstage.

Wilson also revealed he received a phone call from Paul McCartney, who also turned 70 this week. The vocalist said, "He told me he was headed into Abbey road. I told him we were on our way to Montreal. I think he said something like, 'Can you believe we made it this far?' It was very pleasant and sweet."

As for reuniting with his onetime band, Wilson stated, "It's getting better as it goes along," although the notorious sonic perfectionist noted, "We needed a lot of practice."
