Bob Dylan’s ‘The Man in Me’ Featured in TurboTax’s Super Bowl Ad
TurboTax's humorous Super Bowl commercial found the red coats offering free tax filing to a group of angry rebels if they'll stop dumping tea in a certain historical harbor, with Bob Dylan's 'The Man in Me' as its soundtrack.
When they agree, the tides of history are turned -- even as Dylan sorts through his own moment of self examination to close out the spot, titled "Boston Tea Party."
Originally found on 1970's 'New Morning,' Dylan's 'The Man in Me' is probably best known from its use in the opening sequence to the Coen brothers' 1998 film 'The Big Lebowski.'
By the way, the ad ends with an actor portraying George Washington telling his men to reverse their course across an icy waterway, as the voiceover finally admits: "So, maybe that's not exactly how it went down."
No, not exactly. But the Dylan placement was spot on.
