Dan Peek, a founding member of the band America, passed away on Sunday of undisclosed causes at the age of 60. His former bandmates Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley, who still tour together as America, posted statements on the band's official website.

Heart's sister duo of Ann and Nancy Wilson, along with the band America, are among the 2012 honorees that will receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it has just been announced.

The band America is coming out with a new album of cover tunes called 'Back Pages' on July 26. The disc features the group offering renditions of songs by Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, Simon & Garfunkel, the Beach Boys, the Zombies and other acts.
